Ella Blame , currently
living in southern Wisconsin, comes from a family of musicians and
was already singing by the age of 3. Everyday during her childhood,
she heard music almost around the clock - Symphonic, Operatic,
Chamber and Twelve-Tone music, Jazz of all styles, R & B, Soul,
Funk, Rock and Pop.
Ella has an extremely wide vocal range that covers the entire
baritone, tenor and alto ranges, and exceeds the upper limit of the
soprano range. Many professional music critics have acclaimed
Ella's unparalleled voice quality and singing capabilities, and
especially the emotional depth and warmth of her voice. With her
vocal chords, she can produce sounds that most music experts
consider having been generated by a synthesizer or by
post-processing equipment. However, Ella can produce these
"strange" sounds without using a microphone.
Nick Dedina of Rolling
Stone wrote about Ella, "Ella Blame is a less serious
electronica version of Kate Bush with a touch of Shirley Bassey
sass. Her powerful voice fits the diverse material which fluctuates
from high b.p.m. workouts to goth bleakness to soulful acid
jazz."
Ella Blame was nominated in the 2007 Toronto Exclusive Magazine
Awards (online) in the following categories:
MUSIC (International) Pop
Best International Pop Song "How Things Have Changed"
Best International Pop CD Art Work

We are pleased to announce that 9 tracks from Ella Blame's CD
"Ineffable Desire" have been chosen for the soundtrack of the new
jenkev productions, Inc. feature film "Discover Me". The Ella Blame
single "How Things Have Changed" is the opening title theme for the
film.
"Discover Me" examines an internet community's impact on the
formation of modern day relationships. Set in New York City,
"Discover Me" shows three days in the lives of eight ill-fated
individuals. The story revolves around an agoraphobic painter and
her twisted lust for a man living in a neighboring apartment
building, a closet masochist's attempts to fulfill his private
longings, and a naive girl's love for a mysterious eunuch. The
startling conclusion of "Discover Me" reveals that strangers' lives
can connect in unimaginable ways, that the internet is not always
the safest way to connect, and that even a trusted face can be
deceitful. Click on the jenkev productions, Inc. logo provided
below to go to the "Discover Me" website.
"Discover Me" Highlights:
"Discover Me" won the prestigious "2005 Goldie Film Award" in the
feature film category. The Goldie Film
Awards were established in 1984 as "a competition recognizing
excellence and expertise in film worldwide".
"Discover Me" was also the winner of the "Audience Choice Award" at
Indiefest Chicago 2005. Indiefest Chicago 2005 showcased the best
of independent film to the general public, filmmakers, the media
and to distribution executives.
"Discover Me" was accepted at The Kansas International Film
Festival 2005. Each year The Kansas International Film Festival
Board seeks diverse programming that will entertain and inform
their savvy movie-going audiences. "Discover Me" was one of six
finalists in the "Narrative Film Competition".
"Discover Me" was also an official selection at The First Annual
TromaFling-Independent Film Festival 2005. Now set to run during
Edinburgh, Scotland's well known festival season (alongside The
Edinburgh International Film Festival) TromaFling aims to provide a
space to celebrate real independent cinema and bring art to the
people.

The U.K. band The Pocket
Devils were the first artist signing for Pop Music Records,
back in 1996. The Pocket Devils hailed from Merthyr Tydfil, South
Wales and their debut CD single contained the tracks "Walking On
Water", "Take Me Away" and "Chemical Valley High". The vinyl
collector's version contained "Walking On Water" and "Take Me
Away". It was released in the U.K. through Fluffy Bunny (with
distribution by Pinnacle) and was produced by Julian Standen, who
produced The Lemonheads' "Mrs. Robinson". Julian has also worked
with Siouxsie & The Banshees and China Drum, among others.
Around the turn of the century, The Pocket Devils' mp3 "Starmaker
(White Town Mix)" had the distinction of being selected by
RollingStone.com as one of their "Top 10 Most Promising". This
single was produced by the highly accomplished Pete Smith ,
who produced Sting's debut solo album "Dream Of The Blue Turtles".
"Starmaker (White Town Mix)" was remixed by Jyoti Mishra a/k/a White Town ,
who had a #1 single with the supremely evocative "Your Woman".
Jyoti's remix immediately debuted on RollingStone.com's Alternative
Chart and went as high as #4. It was also one of RollingStone.com's
Top 50 downloads (all genres) for several weeks. In one issue of
Rolling Stone , The Pocket
Devils' "Starmaker (White Town Mix)" was listed on their chart page
as the 7th most downloaded song on the Internet, competing with hot
releases by several major label artists. All ancient history now of
course, but the music stands up remarkably well.
The Pocket Devils were discovered by Paul Dixon, who brought the
band to the attention of Dave Ambrose. Dave was a member of Brian
Auger/Julie Driscoll & The Trinity, played in an early version
of Fleetwood Mac, and later was Head of A&R for EMI UK. He
signed The Sex Pistols (for which he was demoted), Duran Duran (for
which he was promptly promoted), The Pet Shop Boys and a slew of
others. Along with Dai Davies, Dave signed The Pocket Devils to a
publishing contract with Sanctuary Music
Publishing .

Bobby Poe and The Poe Kats - Rockabilly Hall Of Famers from the
1950's - were a groundbreaking act that featured legendary piano
player Big Al Downing and
renowned lead guitarist Vernon Sandusky. The late, great Big Al
Downing went on to become a #1 Country star, while Vernon Sandusky
was in Country Music Hall of Famer Roy Clark's band for over 20
years.
Bobby Poe and The Poe Kats' debut single on White Rock Records -
"Rock & Roll Record Girl", backed with "Rock & Roll Boogie"
- is highly prized by collectors. Listen to a wealth of music by
Bobby Poe and The Poe Kats at mySpace.com for
free.
The Poe Kats were also Rockabilly Queen Wanda Jackson's touring and/or
backing band and various members can sometimes be found on her
early singles, including the Rockabilly classic "Let's Have A
Party". "Let's Have A Party" was first recorded by Elvis Presley
for his film "Loving You" and was known simply as "Party". Wanda's
version was recorded around the same time (when she and Elvis were
dating) and featured The Poe Kats' Big Al Downing on piano, Vernon
Sandusky on lead guitar and Joe Brawley on drums. Also on the
session were Buck Owens on rhythm guitar (who was just starting his
career) and Skeets McDonald on bass. It took a couple of years -
until 1960 to be exact - for "Let's Have A Party" to become a Pop
hit and one of Wanda's signature songs.
"(Let's Have A) Party" was covered by Sir Paul McCartney on his
rollicking roots DVD "Live At The Cavern Club", which also features
Pink Floyd's David Gilmour on guitar and Deep Purple's Ian Paice on
drums. There is also a version of "Party" on Sir Paul's CD "Run
Devil Run".

You may also be interested in The Chartbusters, a group from the
mid-1960's that had a big hit with the single "She's The One"
(Mutual Records, catalog number 502). The Chartbusters were managed
by Bobby Poe, Sr. and featured lead guitarist Vernon Sandusky from
Bobby Poe and The Poe Kats. Bobby and Vernon also produced the
band, with Vernon writing or co-writing most of the group's
material.
"She's The One" was released in the Summer of 1964 and went on to
sell over 750,000 copies, peaking at #33 on Billboard's singles chart. At the
time, it was also a #1 record at several radio stations around the
country. Joey
Reynolds of WKBW Radio
in Buffalo, New York can take credit for breaking the single
nationally.
For you trivia buffs out there, Tom Hanks was quoted in
People Magazine as saying The
Chartbusters were one of the inspirations for his film "That Thing
You Do!". In the 1980's "She's The One" was released by Rhino Records on "Nuggets,
Volume 4" as part of their highly respected series of classic
singles from the mid-1960's (the original vinyl series released in
1984, not the later CD box set).
